Nicholas Antwan Gadson, age 36, was born September 16, 1987, in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He was the son of Shirl R. Gadson and Tony Summers. He departed his earthly life December 21, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist/Davie Medical Center, Bermuda Run, North Carolina.
Nick, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Davie County, North Carolina and graduated from Davie High School, Mocksville, North Carolina. He was last employed with Avgol in Mocksville, North Carolina.
Known for his expert gaming skills, Nick could perfect any game he sat down to play. He enjoyed collecting movies and comic books, especially anything Marvel which included collecting action figures. An avid sports fan, Nick enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts while waiting for the NBA season to start so he could cheer on his favorite basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lorene Gadson; paternal grandparents: Shirley Summers and Odell Summers.
Nicolas was fun-loving and always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellowman. His memory will forever be cherished by loving parents: Shirl R. Gadson of the home and Tony (Vanessa James) of Woodleaf, North Carolina; nine brothers: Antonio Black and Andre Black, both of Salisbury, North Carolina, Christopher (Maria) Jackson, Jonathan (Ashlee) Gadson, Marcus Gadson, all of Mocksville, North Carolina, Tyrese (Tamya Miller) Blackwell of Salisbury, North Carolina, Tony Gadson of Woodleaf, North Carolina , Mikal (Angell Dillard) of Mocksville, North Carolina, and Donnie Turner, of Charlotte, North Carolina; eight sisters: Candance Black of Salisbury, North Carolina, Kamika Gadson, LaToya (Wes II) Bohannon , Sharlene (TJ Dillard) Gadson, LaTeashia (Kenneth Brown) Gadson, Raven Blackwell, Aryanna Wall, and Mechele Gadson, all of Mocksville, North Carolina; maternal grandfather, Willie Gadson of Mocksville, North; goddaughter, Kaylyn "Sissy" Gadson; an aunt who was like a second mother, Janetta Gadson of Mocksville, North Carolina; a very special aunt, Helen Gadson; a host of aunts and uncles who he loved dearly; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Moment of Reflection service will be from 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2023 at Roberts Funeral Service (Mocksville) with a visitation from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM.
