Patsy L. Bush, a beloved mother, nana and friend, was born on September 15, 1935 in Davidson County to Henry Perkins and Nera Koontz Hoper. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and service.
Patsy was a dedicated public servant, retiring from the City of Lexington, where she worked as a Customer Service Specialist. Her heart, however, truly belonged to her church and community. A devoted and faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Patsy served with grace and humility as a former Financial Secretary, choir member and a guiding hand on the decorating and kitchen committees. She also shared her time and talents with the Southside Senior Citizens, and her kindness extended beyond her immediate circle as a notary, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Her strength, faith and love were her compass as she was preceded in death by those she cherished deeply: her parents, Henry Perkins and Nera Koontz Hoper; her devoted husband, George Lattiner; her precious daughter, Bonnie L. Sangare; and her siblings: David E. Hooper, Larry H. Hooper, Jonathan Perkins, Roger Z. Perkins and her dear sister, Juanita H. Smith.
Patsy leaves to carry on her memory her children, Lori L. Williams and Jeffrey Lattiner, whose lives are a testament to her love and wisdom. She was the proud nana of nine, great-grandmother of nine and great-great-grandmother of one-each a shining light in her life. Patsy is also survived by her brother, Clifton Perkins, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
A celebration of Patsy's life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Friendship Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather at 1:30 pm to share in her memory. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at South Lexington City Cemetery.
Patsy's life was a reflection of her unwavering faith and her boundless love for her family, friends and community. Her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
