Paul Sanford Baker, 79, of Fuller St. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Lexington Christian Fellowship Church with family visitation an hour before the service.Burial will follow at New Jersey AME Zion Church.

Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1-8pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

He was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to Henry Baker and Loreaine Jowers Baker on April 27, 1935. He was retired from Lexington City Club. He was a member of Lexington Christian Fellowship Church.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glen Pete Baker.

Paul is survived by his wife, Stella Roberts Baker of the home; a daughter, Crystal L. Baker of Jacksonville, Fla.; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Spells of Salisbury, NC and Iris Cindy (Elijah) McLean of Lexington;a grandson, Evan (Tracey) Woods of Mint Hill, NC; a great-grandchild, Isaiah E. Woods of Mint Hill; a brother, William Henry Baker of Lexington; four sisters, Edith (Joe) Tooley of Palm Coast, Fla., Loubertis Barron of Brooklyn, NY, Sadie M. Baker-Hearst of Lexington, NC and Kitty Sullivan (Ellison) Riley of Atlanta, Ga; a goddaughter, Valerie Fuller of Lexington and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
