Phyllis Ann (Sue) Washington, 74, of Winston Salem, NC, passed away on March 4, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Thursday, March 9,2017.Family Visitationwill be held from 12:00pm to 12:30pm at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with the Dr. Nathan Edward Scovens officiating. Burial will follow at St James United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Phyllis was born in Winston Salem, NC to Gertrude Glenn Washington and Joseph Washington on October 18, 1942.She was a graduate of Carver High School and attended Winston Salem State Teachers College. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Forsyth County School System. She was a faithful member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Gertrude & Joseph Washington, a brother William Bernard Glenn and a sister Marva Matthews Porter.

Phyllis is survived by brother Garland (Susan) Washington, sister Gloria Yvonne (Thomas) Shore, sister-in-law Rev. Helen Glenn, a dedicated niece Crystal Warren and several other nieces, nephews, and special cousins in the Glenn and Washington family, Special Friends Betty Hines, Cotton Brendle, Virginia Kendall & Family, Donna Golden, and a host of other relatives and friends.
