Heaven's Gate opened for Randolph Jennings on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 while a patient at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born June 22, 1953 in Kershaw County, South Carolina and was the son of the late Carl Tillman and Rowilla Jennings. Fondly called "Randy" by his family and friends, he was candid, engaging and quite the conversationalist. Randy was a Servant leader who has fought the battle, won the victory, kept the faith and has received his reward as he rests in the Arms of Our Lord and Savior. His memory will be cherished and will remain lovingly in our hearts.
He was educated in the Kershaw County public schools and graduated from Camden High School, Camden, South Carolina. He continued his studies at Davidson-Davie Community College. He was last employed with Capital Property Maintenance Company, High Point, North Carolina.
Randy was a man who believed in his heritage and standing for what is right. He will be forever remembered as "His Brother's Keeper". Randy was always impeccably dressed. He loved fashion and his fashion savvy was apparent in his dress and appearance.
A man of strong faith, Randy was a member of Shekinah Glory Church, High Point, North Carolina where he was a member of the Usher board, Men's Choir, Men's Fellowship and was a Steward. Randy was a member of the Black Panther Party, founding member of Sankofa Society of North Carolina, member of the High Point Peace Makers, volunteered with the Samaritan Kitchen and was a member of Narcotics Anonymous. He enjoyed fishing and playing spades and is the reigning Shekinah Glory Spades Champion.
Sweet was the hour Randolph entered God's Kingdom. There he was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents and a son, Troy Bracknell. We believe that when all of them got together last Wednesday night, they had a glorious time welcoming Randy home.
With joy and thanksgiving in our hearts, we will remember Randy with love, admiration and gratitude for the many years we shared his life. His memory will be treasured by his wife, Ronda Brown Jennings of the home; daughters, Tori Brown of the home and Sherandie Jennings; grandbaby, Zanahri Jennings; special friend, Annette "Nette" Jennings, a brother, Nathaniel (Roberta) Jennings of Bronx, New York; brother-in-law, Ronald Brown of North Carolina; best friend who was like a brother, Apostle Dr. Bradford Lilley of High Point, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services will be conducted 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem) with moments of visitation at 12:30 PM prior to the service. A period of reflection and public viewing will he held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
