Rashawn Lamont Blue of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 in the presence of his Savior. He was born on June 21, 1993 to Sheryl L. Blue and Ben Owens.

Rashawn was an avid Tar Heels and Colts fan. He was no doubt a "momma's boy", as he would say. He was proud to be UNCLE RASHAWN, loving ALL of his nieces and nephews!! In his spare time, he liked playing video games, riding dirt bikes and of course driving and cruising around the town to visit family and friends. He was a "people person", always full of love, joy and supportive of everyone and their dreams. He will be remembered by his generosity, unselfishness and the unconditional love he bestowed upon his family, dearest friends and even strangers. Rashawn attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools with hopes to attend Forsyth Tech Community College.

Rashawn has ALWAYS had a strong mind, a character of courage and he never allowed anything or anyone to stop him from doing what he wanted to do. He was determined and head-strong. If we learned anything from his journey on this Earth, it would be "Do not quit and never underestimate YOUR value in the eyes of mediocre ways."

Rashawn fought in good spirits until his fight was no more. Even though his flesh is no longer with us, may his Spirit continue to bring us comfort, happiness and peace as we carry on loving as he loved and cherishing the joys of life as he did with his family and friends, for the energy and love that he gave has not gone away, but has only been transferred from one heart unto many. May the joy he brought others and the smiles he placed upon hearts remind us every day to live our best life to the fullest as he did. For it is of great magnificence and pleasure to live our life full of love every day and to know you did just that, even in the moments of your last breath. Rest well in paradise. Job well done.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Sheryl L. Blue; father, Ben Owens (LaWander); grandmother, Catherine Blue; his siblings: Stephanie Drummond (Quinton), John "Earl" Blue, Tasheka Blue, Frances Blue, Dewaun Tillery and Kamija McIntyre; his loving fiancé, LaNya Washington; aunts: Alice Blue, Phyllis Cowins (Johnny), Lena "Mozella" Blue, Lummie Blue; uncle, Abraham Blue, Jr.; nieces: Aisha, Dayzia, Danya, Kara, Enycia, Tinesha, Mariah, Haleigh and Jamirrah; nephews: Jahmal, Isaiah, Quinton III, Gregory, Jr. and Je'Redd; and a host of cousins, extended family and close friends.


Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 23, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Service (Winston-Salem) with visitation at 1:00 P.M. Public viewing will be Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
