Raymond Leroy Gandy was born to Easter Mae and James Gandy on July 25, 1957 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He passed away on March 19, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

He received his formal education from the WSFC Public Schools in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Raymond was known to some of his friends as "Hulk". He loved children and football. He was very easy going. He loved helping others and would give you the shirt off his back.

He retired from Atrium Windows and Doors in Welcome, North Carolina, being a faithful employee for 14 years. Raymond still tried to work part-time until his health failed.

Preceding him in death: parents, Easter Mae and James Gandy; brother, Darryl Gandy; three sisters: Carolyn "Pee Wee" Jones, Doretha Gandy and Marie Brown.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Kenneth Cherry; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Rucker, Topsanca "ToodaBug" Johnson; brother, Robert (Lisa) Jones; a devoted nephew, Reginald "Pook" Gandy; a devoted niece, Lorena Michelle Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews; very special friend, Constance "Connie" Chess who was there until God called him home and a host of other family, friends and acquaintances.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Ambassadors for Christ Church, 1500 Harriett Tubman Drive, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105 with visitation at 12:45 P.M. prior to the service.
