Deaconess Reva Mae Bennett, 84, peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at her home. She was born July 1, 1941, to the late Buster and Ethel Gene Bennett Murry in Lincolnton, Georgia.

Reva’s last employment was with Dixie Furniture. She was also a co-owner of B & B Lawncare Service. She was a homemaker and often kept children in her home.

Deaconess Reva Bennett loved the Lord and was a faithful member of New Life Worship Center of Lexington, Inc. where she shared the title “Mother of the Church.” Over the years “Ma’ Bennett” served as the Chairperson of the Deaconess Board, a member of the Sister's United in Christ Ministry. She once sang with the Mass and Women’s Choir and was a past chairperson of the Kitchen Committee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, King Allen “Crazy Luke” Bennett; siblings: George Murray, James Murray, Willie Lee Jones, Mildred Elam, Ophelia Alston and Peggy Maddox.

She leaves so many memories with her daughter, Reverend Katherine Watford; son, George “Moe” Bennett (Patty); two grandsons whom she raised, LeShay Cross and Lonnie “DoWhop” (Damitress) Watford II; two great-granddaughters and caregivers whom she raised, TaKiyah (Jarmaine) Page and Sa’Niyya (Plum) Taylor; and a caregiver-great-grand-daughter, Annika Green. She is also survived by her sisters: Emma Harris, Fannie Pete and Onelia Stringer; her brother, Jessie Murray; and an aunt/Godmother, Emma Bennett.

“Granny,” as she was affectionately called by so many, leaves her other grandchildren who also had a special place in her heart: Taya King, Courtney “Mikey” (Chevon) Cross, Lazarus Hairston, Andre Bennett, Andrea Bennett, Keosha Bennett and Jamariquan Green: great-grandchildren: Cedarian “Markell” (Leah) Lee, Kayla Burton, Courtney Cross, Lyric Watford, Lamiyah Watford, Tayvia Watford, Malik McNeair, Nydia McNeair, Isaiah Clodfelter and Imani Clodfelter; great-great grands: Navy Trio, Ariah Lee, Judah Lee and Leviticus Lee. Additionally, she leaves God daughters, Essie Johnson and Alberta Elam; son-in-love, Lonnie Watford; sister-in-loves Mary Garnett, Sandra Bennett, Driscillar Bennett, Hess Bennett; devoted neighbors/caregivers Lorraine Smith, Rocky Smith; special friends: Cathy Carter, Alvin and Betty Hoover, George Hoover, Patsy Abrams and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
