Robert "Moe" Eugene Moore, 74, born to the late Eugene Jacob Alonzo Moore and Daphne Rebecca Smith Moore, passed away on March 12, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC.
Moe was a very kind-hearted and sociable person who would do anything to help anybody, and got along with everyone. He attended New Smith Grove Baptist Church until his health began to decline. He was a student at Dunbar High School, Class of '67 until he entered the armed forces in November of 1971. He was sent to Fort Jackson in North Carolina where he served for three years in the armed services. He served in the Vietnam War where he received the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal and medals for Expert M-16, and Marksman M-14. He was a faithful member of the Banks-Miller Post #255.
"Moe's" passion and pastime was being on the water FISHING. He went all over with his fishing buddies competing in tournaments or just for fun. He eventually purchased his own boat, and went every chance he could, even if it was by himself. He would keep some of what he caught for himself, then would give the rest to others. He was a member of the Ebony Fish Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara McDowell.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a brother, Dr. Rev. Jimmy (Vicki) Moore; his companion of 48 years, Betsy (Bunkie) Fuller; a son, Quincy Fuller; two grandchildren, Javoria Fuller and Jayveon Fuller; nephews: Marcus Moore, Brandon Moore, Christopher Moore; nieces, Felisha Moore and Stephanie Norman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will Monday at New Smith Grove Baptist Church at 2:00pm with family visitation at 1:30pm. Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00am at Salisbury National Cemetery.
