Mr. Robert Lee Gooden, 82, formerly of South Pennington Ave., passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Lexington Health Care.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 12:00 Noon at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.

Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1-8pm at Roberts Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1932 in Davidson County to Jeff Gooden and Sadie Cross Gooden. He served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Annie McCoy.

He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Robert A. (Cynthia P.) Gooden of Washington, DC; four sisters, Helen Nichols, Pauline Hargrave, Earnestine Brown and Inez Shaw; a grandchild and a great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
