Mr. Robert Joseph Owens, 75, formerly of Swing Dairy Rd., passed away on July 21, 2022 at Accordius Health at Lexington.
"Deal" or "Delim," as he was better known, was born in Davidson County to Robert Obie Owens and Cora Lee Simmons Owens on October 20, 1946. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army. He was a member of New Jersey AME Zion Church and retired from Salisbury Rowan Headstart in where he worked in Maintenance. Delim was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Drusilla Stephens and Cora Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Colette (Curtis) McLaughlin; two grandchildren, Christopher (Devannie) McLaughlin and Chase McLaughlin; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Charles Owens; a special nephew, three special nieces and a host of other great nieces, great nephew, cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00-6:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Service. Burial will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Salisbury National Cemetery at 10:00 A.M.
