Robert Orville Thomas of Winston Salem, North Carolina was called to his Heavenly home on Friday, November 11, 2016, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be Friday at Brooks Temple United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with family visitation an one hour before the service.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Public viewing will be Thursday at Roberts (Winston-Salem) from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.

"Chub" and "Papa", as he was affectionately known , was born on April 29, 1945 in Thomasville, North Carolina to Betty Viola and Hollis Thomas.He was educated in Midway and graduated from Dunbar High School in Lexington in 1963.
