On Thursday, March 10, 2022 Robert Vinson gave up time for eternity. In sweet peace, he departed this life of 75 years at his residence, El Paso, Texas. We, his family members and friends, bow in humble submission to the Will of God.
"Rob Lee," as he was affectionately known, was the son of the late Verdine Mack Vinson and Jasper Vinson, Sr. He graduated from Price High School. While in high school, he enjoyed playing the trombone and marching in the marching band. After high school, he joined the military, serving his country for over 15 years honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. Robert was known for being a motivator and the King of the Hill. As a protector, Robert was known to be a giver and not a taker. Always a sharp dresser, Robert believed in caring for his family even up to his last days; he would call them weekly to check in and make sure everyone was doing okay. Before his health declined, Robert traveled the world extensively until he landed a job as a Chef in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Vinson, and a sister, Geraldine Hoover .
A man of wit, friendliness and capability, Robert Lee Vinson, brother, uncle and world traveler, was loved and admired by all who knew him.
Robert leaves to cherish the memory of his life, four sisters: Brenda Rucker and Jacqueline (Matthew) Gregory, both of Woodleaf, North Carolina, Tamara Vinson and Daphne Ann Vinson, both of Salisbury, North Carolina; two brothers, Jasper (Carolyn) Vinson, Jr. and Gary E. Vinson, both of Salisbury, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
