Obituary

Roderick Tyrone Martin's journey began September 29, 1959 in Davie County, North Carolina. He was born the son of Rosa Lee Martin and Robert Gaither. On the morning of Saturday April 8 2023, he transitioned and went to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is the most difficult time for our family; as we give thanks for the years we were blessed with his physical presence.

E-Man as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Davie County public schools, after attending high school he join the United States Army and then went on to attend Forsyth Technical Community College, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While at Forsyth Technical Community College, he majored in Mechanics, Blue Printing and Truck Driving. He was ultimately self-employed as a mechanic.

Roderick was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church Mocksville, North Carolina. Since a young man, you could find Roderick working on cars. Roderick was always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellowman and was the neighborhood "Mechanic" for those who enlisted his services. He was a self-taught artist always drawing something incredible. Roderick also had a love for motorcycles.

Roderick was preceded in death by his brother Marcus Gaither.

A life filled with warmth, and loving memories will forever be treasured by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Rosa Lee Martin of the home; father, Robert Gaither of New York and stepmother Clara Gaither of New York; three sisters: Tawana Gaither, Miriam Gaither, and Sandy Gaither, all of New York; four nieces: Chanel, Emily, Shanice and LaTisha; three nephews: Dyshaun, Jaylan, and LaMar; his two favorite aunts: Helen Martin and Charlene Martin; a host of family members and friends.
