IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronica Jones
Malachi
August 14, 1976 – September 21, 2024
Ronica Jones Malachi departed her earthly life on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at her home. Born on August 14, 1976 in Thomasville, North Carolina, she was the cherished daughter of Ronald E. Jones and Janice M. Eaddy Jones, the eldest of their five children. Ronica was a member of Cunningham First Baptist Church, led by her family's spiritual leader, Reverend Mose Eaddy and First Lady Mary C. Eaddy and accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. A 1995 graduate of Thomasville Senior High School, Ronica studied at Guilford Technical Community College and completed numerous medical certifications. She was a dedicated and compassionate employee for more than 30 years at Cornerstone Healthcare, now Atrium Health. In her role, she touched numerous lives and left an immeasurable impact on all she encountered, patients and colleagues alike.
A picture of selflessness, Ronica was often known to go over and beyond helping family and friends, and spending countless hours assisting those in her community in their greatest times of need. Affectionately called "Tang" by her family from a young age, she was a foodie who loved traveling, festivals and spending time with family. Her love of 90's music was reflected by her extensive collection of CDs and cassettes which she regularly played, and her love of Tweety Bird was often reflected in various aspects of her life, from clothes to various accessories. Her candied yams were always a big hit at family functions and while others may have tried to imitate, hers always reigned supreme. To know her was to know that she loved nature and always maintained a beautiful collection of house plants. She also kept collections of lists of her favorite songs and quotes. Ronica was a truly devoted mother to her three children: Makenzie of High Point, NC and Makaila and Makory, who survive of the home; and her special godson, Kaysen of High Point, NC.
Ronica was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Reverend Mose Eaddy; paternal grandparents, Hollis L. and Lucy E. Jones and Catherine Chaney and beloved great aunt, Rosa L. Nelson. In addition to her parents and children, she is survived by her sister, Monica Jones-Ross (David Ross) and brothers: Ronald (Amanda) Jones, Stedman Jones, Mose Jones (Kasey Shadrick); and beloved nieces and nephews: Tylee, Cyprus, Marley, Logan, Isaiah, Eli, Willian and Eloise-Marie. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Mary C. Eaddy, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and work family.
