Obituary

Rosa Lee Brown, 92, slipped away from this earthly realm into eternal rest on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.She was born on January 14, 1929 to the late Murray Lee Brown and Margaret Edward Brown in Williamsburg County, South Carolina.

She matriculated through the Williamsburg School System.She would later in life relocate to New York and worked at a hospital in New York.After some time of working and living in New York, she would then relocate to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Religiously, she was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

She was married to the late Arthur Weatherby, Sr. and to that union was one son, Arthur Weatherby, Jr. of Brooklyn, New York and from the union to the late Henry Washington were four children born: Levi Washington (Betty) of South Carolina, Peggy Shelly of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Elneata Taylor (Carroll) and Rollins Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Washington; two children, Elneata Taylor (Carroll) and Rollins Washington.

She leaves to mourn but cherish her memories her beloved children: Arthur Weatherby, Jr. of Brooklyn, New York,Levi Washington (Betty) of South Carolina and Peggy Shelly of Winston-Salem,North Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother,Donnie Brown (Aubertine) of Winston-Salem; one sister, Sallie Mae McFadden of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; devoted and loving brother-in-law, Elgent I. Cooper of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Mary Brown of Georgia and Alberta Brown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a host of nieces and nephews; two special friends, Doris Penn and Peggy Hall both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 9, 2021 from the serenity of Parklawn Memorial Gardens.Public viewing will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem Chapel.In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory requirements.
