Rosa L. Kirkpatrick Craven, 91, was born April 7, 1932 in Boone, NC to the late Leroy Kirkpatrick, Sr. and Elizabeth Hagler Kirkpatrick. Rosa departed this earthly life on August 6, 2023 in the comfort of her grandson, Adrian Kirpatrick and devoted niece (caregiver) Mary Diane Lyons.
Rosa was a faithful member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church until her health started to decline, nevertheless she continued her steadfast walk with the Lord.
Recognizing that cleanliness is next to Godliness, she spent the majority of her life keeping the community of Lexington clean and tidy as custodian for Lexington Middle School and the family home of the late Dr. Thomas G. and Deloris Ratton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Craven; three brothers: Leroy Kirkpatrick, Jr., James Kirkpatrick and Carl Kirkpatrick and three sisters: Joann Kirkpatrick, Mary Jane Rice and Daisy Mae Kirkpatrick.
She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memories, a daughter, Charlene (Curtis) Davis of Lexington; two grandsons, Marcus (Melissa) Kirkpatrick of Lansing, Michigan and Adrian Kirkpatrick of the home; three great-grandchildren: Kasi (Barry) Hedglen, Brody Kirkpatrick and Deontrae Young-Kirkpatrick; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Kirkpatrick of Oakridge, Tenn; a sister, Geraldine Horton of Lenoir, NC; an aunt, Clara McQueen of Boone, NC; a step daughter, Velma (Danny) Hargrave and a host of other relatives and friends.
She also leaves her love and blessings to the Craven family, a beloved part of her life's journey.
