Rosa Lee Martin entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 18, 2025 while a patient at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We give thanks for Rosa's life and we are grateful for the many memories.
Rosa was born December 20, 1940, in Yadkin County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Lester and Minnie Lindsey Martin. She received her formal education in the Davie County Schools, graduating from Central Davie Training School in Mocksville, North Carolina. After graduation, she moved to New York where she obtain her beautician certification which was her true passion from her teenage years. Rosa later moved back to North Carolina and worked with Lexington Furniture Company until her retirement. A former member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Mocksville, North Carolina, Rosa enjoyed cooking, traveling to see the world and spending time with her friends. She loved making all those around her laugh, and telling stores about her latest adventure. Known for being the family historian, Rosa believed in preserving and sharing the family history.
Along with her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her only child, Roderick Tyrone Martin; two brothers, Frankie Martin and Lonnie Martin; a sister, CeLester Martin; and a niece, Wanda (Lesa) Parks.
Rosa is survived by a loving and supportive family who will cherish her memory. Survivors are five nieces: Kim Rowan, Tavia (Garfield) Evans, Ebony Martin, Nadirah/Tonya (Eric) Muhammad and Teesha Martin; two sisters-in-law, Helen Martin and Charlene Martin; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel.
