Family, friends, community and classmates will gather to honor the memory of Rosalyn "Ros" Arnett. Mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, auntie, friend, community organizer and classmate, Rosalyn Arnett wore many hats. She left her earthly body on February 7, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rosalyn leaves behind a legacy of community service. While her physical body may have departed, her zeal for life and love of community lives on. Rosalyn was a lifelong member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women and an advocate for equity, political candidates and those with disabilities. She never met a stranger and volunteered faithfully with multiple organizations and was a proud member of the class of 1976. She is lovingly known for her compassion and cooking for those in mourning.

Rosalyn worked diligently for Cardinal Steel Drum and Edgewood Industries. She was passionate about cooking. She shared that love in cafeterias: Dunbar Intermediate School, Silver Diner and over a decade at Southern Lunch. Her family and former coworkers open the doors at the latter for a celebration immediately following services.

She was preceded in death by her son, Cleveland Turman, parents and brother, Leon Arnett. Rosalyn is survived by her children, Maudiette Arnett, of Lexington and Antionette Kerr (Jim Loy) of Cornelius. Rosalyn is honored by siblings: Dr. Hazel Arnett Ervin of Research Triangle, Larry Arnett of Lexington, Carolyn Arnett of Lexington, Juanita Arnett of Winston-Salem, Martha Arnett Holley of Winston-Salem, Christopher Arnett of Lexington, Harriett Cooper (Allan) of Lexington, Harrison Miller Arnett, Jr. (Vonda) of Clarksville, TN. and a beloved grandson, Sedrick Kerr (Beverly).

She was cared for and attended to by her daughter, Maudiette, Carolina Senior Care, Pace, Accordance Health and family members throughout the years. Rosalyn's hobbies included dancing, live music, strolls and baking.

The well-known and beloved community member is resting in the care of Roberts Funeral Services. The family will receive visitors at her home, 202 Peacock Ave, Lexington.

All are welcome to a visitation on Sunday, February 13th from 1 to 5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service, 701 N. Main St., Lexington 27292. The family will host a home-going service on Monday, February 14th at 12:00p.m. at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 100 E. First St., Lexington. The family will gather with visitors at Southern Lunch, 26 S. Railroad St., immediately following the service.
