Mr. Roscoe Johnson was born on December 8th, 1939 in Whitesville, North Carolina to Mattie Johnson and spent most of his early life in Bishopville, South Carolina. Roscoe transitioned peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on June 4th, 2026.

Roscoe was proceeded in death by his mother, Mattie Johnson; brothers Robert Johnson, Brook Johnson, Luther Mack, Jr., Louie Mack and Charles Mack; His wife, Jacqueline Pickett Johnson whom despite their separation remained the best of friends.

Roscoe resided in Lexington, North Carolina where he retired from Lexington Furniture Industries. He was a skilled brick mason and much of his work can be seen throughout multiple of the remaining former LFI buildings around town. Roscoe was an avid sports fan, specifically baseball. His hobbies included playing softball, watching westerns, fishing and riding his scooter with his friends. When not riding his scooter, you could find him sitting under his shade tree jiving and joking with family and friends.

Roscoe is survived by four children, Tabetha Haverkamp (Joe), Anthony Vaughters, Jerome Nelson and Dontruster Atta (Daniel); longtime companion, Kay Fortune; and a host of family and friends.
