Roy Lee Arnold Jr., age 39, entered Eternal rest Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born on January 6, 1986 in Davie County, North Carolina. Roy was the son of Alberta Fortune Arnold and the late Roy Lee Arnold Sr.. He will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand to his fellowman. We are thankful for the years we shared his life.

He attended the public schools of Davie County and he was known to his family as the protector. You would often find him walking his nieces, nephews and the neighborhood children back and forth to school. He really enjoyed the moments shared with his nephew as he would walk him to his football practices and games. His last employment was with Byrne Trucking Equipment in Mocksville, North Carolina.

His former church affiliation was with Shiloh Baptist Church in Mocksville. He enjoyed attending various churches in the community and surrounding counties. Roy loved walking, telling others about the goodness of the Lord, volunteering, cooking and listening to music. He was a great conversationalist and never met a stranger. As stated previously, he loved children, and although he had no children of his own, he protected each child he knew as if they were his own.

Along with his father, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Tracey Eugene Fortune.

Those left to cherish fond memories are his mother, Alberta Fortune Arnold of Mocksville, North Carolina; a brother, Marcus J. Fortune of Mocksville, North Carolina; two sisters, Stephanie Fortune and Tarmisha Fortune, both of Mocksville, North Carolina; three nieces: Mya Fortune, Madison Rector and Aisa Booe; six nephews: Marcus Fortune, Markel Fortune, Marquis Fortene, Bryson Booe, Lamont Andrews and Jeremiah Andrews; three aunts: Bertha (John) Redmon and Shelby Neely, both of Mocksville, North Carolina and Margaret Arnold of Connecticut; two uncles, Cecil Arnold of Connecticut and Ricky Neely of Mocksville, North Carolina; and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Roy Arnold, Jr. will be on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM, Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Mocksville) with family visitation at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Rose Cemetery in Mocksville. Public viewing will be Friday, August 22, 2025 at Roberts Funeral Service (Mocksville) from 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM.
