Ruby Welch Lyons, age 94, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Brian Center Lexington.

She was born to the late Edward and Nancy Welch in Forsyth County on September 3, 1923. Ruby was a member of Ezekiel AME Zion Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, life chair of missionary, vice president of missionary and member of the choir.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore A. Lyons, Sr.; two sons, Elmore A. Lyons, Jr. and David Lyons and two brothers, Ulysses and Wilber Welch.

Left to cherish her priceless memories are her son, Donald (Debra) Lyons; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Harris Lyons and Annette Richmond Lyons; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing service will be Sunday, January 7, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Ezekiel AME Zion Church with family visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
