Russell Hayes, Jr., 79, was born on May 7, 1941 to the late Russell Hayes, Sr. and Lula Lindsay Hayes in Davidson County, North Carolina.Mr. Hayes transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Citadel in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Russell, affectionately known as "R.C.", was educated in the local Davidson County Public Schools.He was employed with Lexington City and EPCO Construction Company until his health declined.

Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his father, Russell Hayes, Sr.; mother, Lula Lindsay Hayes; his wife, Roberta Hayes; four children: Lovenzo Hayes, Mary Hayes, Cathlene Hayes and Tammy Hayes; three brothers: Johnny Hayes, Paul Hayes and Harold Hayes, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Angela Hayes, Caprisha Hayes and Coliumba Scott; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Pearlene and Wanda Hayes both of the home; two brothers, Arthur Hayes of the home and Lois Hayes of the Midway community; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Homegoing services will be held privately.Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Service. In accordance with Covid-19 social distancing protocols, all guests are required to wear a face mask.
