Our beloved Sandra Barksdale Wright Jackson was called to Eternal rest on Friday, October 14, 2022 at her residence in Lexington, North Carolina. Saundra was born to Bobbie Jean Bussey Barksdale and the late Thomas Lee Barksdale in Lincolnton, Georgia.
Sandra, affectionately known as Duck, was educated in the Lincolnton County public school system, graduating from Lincolnton City High School, Lincolnton, Georgia, Class of 1982. She was last employed at Grayson Creek Assistant Living, Welcome, North Carolina as their resident care coordinator. A true believer, Sandra was a dedicated and faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Lexington, North Carolina, where she fellowshipped and enjoyed many spirited services.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending quality time with her family and friends. Sandra was the "belle of the ball," engaging, never boring and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Sandra was a "ray of sunshine" who was received into her Heavenly Home by her father, Thomas Lee Barksdale and husband, Rodgers Jackson.
Sandra's physical presence is no longer with us, but her memory and the love she shared with family and friends will remain in the hearts of two sons, Shadarius Barksdale and Cameron Barksdale; a daughter, Raneisha Wright; mother, Bobbie Jean Bussey-Barksdale; grandfather, Nathan Bud Bussey; a sister, Brenda Morgan; two brothers, Charles Barksdale and Nelson (Corretta) Barksdale; three aunts: Evelyn (Mitchell) Norman Strong, Mildred Johnson Walker and Mae Lou Harris; five uncles: Wayne (Betty) Bussey, Joe Bussey, Barney (Beverly) Bussey, Robert (Rachel) Hearst and Henry Johnson; brother-in-law, Wayne Morgan; three best friends who were like sisters: Katrina Smalley, Bridgette Eller and Letha Poole; her fury baby, Zoey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
