Mrs. Sara Maurine Burnside, 98, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

She was born November 13, 1921 in Davidson County to James and Troy Holmes Winston.She graduated from Dunbar School and received her cosmetologist license.Maurine worked for Dixie Furniture and Mallory Battery and was a member of First Baptist Church, Southmont.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie Calvin Burnside; four brothers: James Winston, Edward Winston, Leroy Winston and Andrew Winston and two sisters, Julia Hargrave and Ola Winston.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Alfreda Winston Jones and Aquilla Winston Sampson both of Lexington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private home-going service will be held on Saturday at First Baptist Church, Southmont, with interment in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Friday from 1-5 pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
