Sarah Ann Conner Shepard, 85, slipped away from this earthly realm into blissful eternal rest on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

She was born on August 18, 1935 to the late Henry and Annie Conner.She is one of six children.She matriculated through the local Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of Atkins High School, Class of '53.She attended WSSU and later Business College.Sarah was employed by Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center for 35 years.After her retirement, she enjoyed making quilts and doing other crafts.She also loved reading and sending cards.Sarah was a member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sinclair Shepard, who was a native of Albany, New York.Their union was blessed with three children: Robin Reaves (Willie), Michael Shepard (Tajuania, deceased), and Mark Shepard all of the city.She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Catherine Jackson and Virginia Scott.

Those left to cherish her life and memory are her children: Robin Reaves (Willie), Michael Shepard, Mark Shepard; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Conner (Judy), Albert "T-Ball" Conner (Veronica) and a sister, Kay Johnson (Donald, deceased); other family and friends.

The homegoing celebration of life will be conducted 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from the chapel of Roberts Funeral Service (Winston-Salem) with family moments of visitation at 11:30 A.M. prior to the service.Public viewing will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory requirements.
