Mrs. Savannah Mae Hairston Davis, age 92, daughter of the late Peter and Ever Brown Hairston, was born May 9, 1928 in Davidson County. On Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center, Mrs. Davis entered into eternal life.

She attended the public schools in Davidson County. She retired from Dixie Furniture Plant #1 and was a lifetime member of Buncombe Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ozzie Davis; a son, James William Hairston; a daughter, Doris Ann King; four brothers: William, Stokes, James and Grover and four sisters: Arizona Hairston, Zella Mae Hairston, Essie Hairston and Veronia Hairston.

She leaves to cherish her fond memory her three children: Johnny (Sharon) Davis; Russell Davis and Shirley Davis; a daughter-in-law, Lula Mae Hairston; two sisters, Naomi Sims and Betty Lou Burke and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private funeral service will be Saturday at Buncombe Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Friday at Roberts Funeral Service from 1:00-5:00 PM.
