Sharon Maria McCright Thompson was born in Rowan County, North Carolina, to the late Alice Ruth Smith Cross and Charles White, Sr. She departed this life on July 10, 2026.

Sharon attended Rowan County Schools and was known for the love she shared with her family and friends throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted stepfather, Shiver McCright, who lovingly raised her; her daughter, Tanya Rena McCright; her brother, Curtis W. McCright; and her sister-in-law, Elder Barbara McCright.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved grandson, Robert W. Williams; her brother, Charles L. White, Jr., of Salisbury, North Carolina; and her sisters, Wanda (Albert) Neely of Salisbury, North Carolina, Juanita White Hardy (Melvin) of Silver Spring, Maryland, Apostle Charlene Kellam (Bishop J.C.) of Salisbury, North Carolina, Barbara Jean Selmon (James) of Houston, Texas, Marie Carlos of Salisbury, North Carolina, Pastor Kathy White of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Rhonda White of Houston, Texas. She also leaves a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
