Shelby Jean Queen Miller, 71, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the Hinkle Hospice House. She was born April 4, 1955 in Davidson County to the late Homer Queen and Allie Bell Ensley Queen.
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Ray Miller; and a brother, Eddie Queen.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her two sons, Jason James and fiancée, Alana and Norman James and wife, Amanda, all of Lexington; three daughters: Denise Everhart of Lexington, Dawn Zigler of Massachusetts and Dana Poston of Lexington; two sisters, Shirley Grant (Lance) of Bryson City, NC and Joan Blevins (Steve) of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Shelby worked as a phlebotomist at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lexington.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
