Smith Clay Carter, Jr., 48, of Trent Court, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Kate B. Reynolds.

The funeral service will be Friday at 1:00pm at Greater Church with family visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park.Public viewing will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was born March 13, 1969, to the late Smith Clay Carter, Sr. and Gertrude J. Carter in Forsyth County. He was employed with the City of Winston-Salem Sanitation Division.He was preceded in death by his father, Smith Clay Carter, Sr. and one brother, Michael Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Gertrude J. Carter; three children: Kedrick (Lanita) Martin, Chrissean Jones, Jordan Jones; four siblings: Kim Laurell Carter, Kenneth Carter, Steven Carter, Matthew (Kena) Carter; one grandchild, Tavian Wolfe; aunts: Helen Benbow, Wilhelmenia (Willie) Pledger, Linda Ann Anderson, Shelia Stokes (Terrence) Langford, Pamela Stokes Taylor, Deborah Stokes, Millicent Harris, Joan Carter, Jasmine (Ron) Reid, Jacqueline Carter, Pamela Carter, Willette Carter, Lenior Carter; god brother, Sterling W. Jones; six nieces, eight nephews and a host of cousins, other family and friends.
