Susan Yarborough, pastor of Root of David Church of Deliverance, was born March 5, 1945 in Lexington, NC to Leonard Martin and Nellie Howard.

She attended school in Lexington prior to moving to New York and finished her education in Portchester, New York. Susan married Robert L. Carroll and from that union had three children. After the death of her first husband, she married Donell L. Yarborough and from that union a child was born.

The family relocated to Lexington, North Carolina. Both Susan and Donell were called to minister and became Co-Pastors to the Root of David Church of Deliverance.

Affectionately called Sue by her husband and mommy by her children, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, attentive grandmother and great-grandmother.

Susan was an entrepreneur in her own right, using her God-given anointing and talents to serve others by preaching and teaching the Word of God, ministering in song, baking, feeding the homeless, ministering to the sick and shut-in and counseling those in need.

Left to cherish loving memories of Susan are her husband, Donell L. Yarborough of Lexington; two daughters, Shawn Carroll of Raleigh, NC and Jill (Ronald) Jones of Lexington; a son, Donell L Yarborough, II of Lexington; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Sims of Portchester, NY; a brother-in law, James Yarborough; two aunts by marriage; a host of cousins, friends and church family. Susan was preceded in death by her oldest son, James Martin and her parents.

Public viewing will be Saturday from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service. A memorial Service will be at 3:30pm in the Craven-Powell Chapel of Roberts Funeral Service.
