Obituary

God’s child, always putting others above Himself, a wonderful son, loving brother, and a passionate uncle.

Sylvester Bell, Jr., 51, transitioned to the arms of our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center, in Winston-Salem, NC following a long battle with stage 4 colon cancer. He was born on June 20, 1974 in The Bronx, New York. Sylvester was the son of Sandra Hope Konate and the late Sylvester Bell, Sr.

From the moment he entered this world, he was a fighter. Born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, he overcame adversity from the very beginning and carried that same strength and determination throughout his life.

He was known for his strong character, love for life and willingness to help anyone in need, even while enduring pain himself. A true jack-of-all-trades, he enjoyed house renovations,

working on cars and motorcycles and spending time with his various arsenal. His humor and honesty were unforgettable, often expressed through his familiar sayings, “You dumb” or “You stupid,” spoken in love and laughter.

He deeply loved his family and friends and would do anything for those he cared about. Despite life’s challenges, he remained committed to growth and self-improvement. While incarcerated, he earned an Associate Degree in Business and a barber’s license.

He later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Information Technology degrees from ECPI University.

Most importantly, he recently gave his life to Jesus Christ and placed his trust in God. He was a faithful member of Without A Doubt Faith Ministries. His strength, love and impact will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Bell, Sr. and brother, Lee McCoy.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Sandra Konate; his children: Kellie Smith, Sailik Bell, Kahlil Bell, Dominique Little, Kevin Jones, Naomi Bell, Laela Jones, Rita Jones, Amir Bell; his wife, Wanda Bell; his sisters: Rhonda Marte Spirit, Shaleem Bell, Sharimah Bell, and Sylbrina McFadden and brother-in-law, Derek Mcfadden; his brother, Shartel Bell and sister- in-law, Maya Bell; granddaughters, Ava Bell, Korrine Bell; one uncle, Henry Nixon; one aunt, Barbara Johnson; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
