Terry Ellis "Fredrick" Tuttle of the Midway community was a caring father, grandfather, brother and friend. Terry fought with all he could against his illnesses but gained his heavenly wings on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the tender age of 61.
Terry was born to the late Robert Lee and Glennie Mae Tuttle on July 27, 1961. He was the second of four boys and one of the nine beautiful children they nurtured into this world. Terry was a kind man, handyman and helping man when called upon. Terry graduated from North Davidson High School in 1978 and spent most of his working years at Douglas Battery. He was a member of Brooks Temple United Methodist Church.
His undying love for music throughout his lifetime never strayed. He could often be seen in the good old days carrying a guitar and partnering with his favorite Uncle Johnson, singing Cameo, often comparing his talents to those of the lead singer of the band. Most of his weekends were spent sitting in his yard singing Gerald Levert, watching the Nascar race and going to battle with anyone who dared to speak against his beloved Raiders. His most recent hobbies included flirting with his nurses, calling each of his sisters for a cheeseburger or some good fried chicken and sitting in his truck catching the breeze while occasionally stealing looks from across the ballfield to his dear friend and also mother of his only child, Libby or "Beth" as he would call her.
Terry was a beautiful soul to know. His calm demeanor and personality could light up and fill a room. He cared so deeply for his son, grandchildren and the people around him and his sometimes stubborn but loving ways touched so many people and will truly be missed as the days go on without him.
Terry is survived by his only child, Terrence (Leigha) Craver; a bonus son, Christopher (Nicole) Hayes; two grandchildren, Taniyah and Ta'zyious Craver; three brothers: Robert (Betty) Leak, Keith (Donna) Tuttle and Marlon (Zelda) Tuttle; five sisters: Kathy Thomas, Sheila Leonard, Paula (Nathan) Tuttle, Kimberly Tuttle and Michelle (Anthony) Borden; three uncles: Robert (Brenda) Leak, Alonzo (Averlla) Tuttle and Clarence Tuttle; three aunts: Pecola Lattimore, Henrietta Owens and Grace Huntley; three dear friends: Robert Bennett, Luke Leonard and Melvin Paige, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Terry was predeceased by both parents, Robert Lee Tuttle and Glennie Mae Tuttle, a daughter, Ann Marie Hayes; a brother-in-law, Willie Leonard and two nieces, Tjeda A. Tuttle and Natasha Tuttle.
