Life is a journey that leads us in many directions.It can be difficult and challenging at times: a journey that has ups and downs, highs and lows, happy and sad moments.

At 3:15 P.M. on July 4, 2020 Twanda Latrell Godden shifted the atmosphere and transitioned from her earthly life into her heavenly home.

Twanda was born in High Point, North Carolina on June 5, 1972 to Shirley Kirby-Gooden and Lee Gooden, Jr.Twanda's formal education began in the Thomasville City School System.After moving with her family to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she attended Parkland High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1990.Twanda went on to further her education at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.She was part of the leadership team serving as a Store Manager with Dollar General Corporation.

Her brother, Tracy Secoyah Kriby, loving grandparents, Robert and Rosa Mae Kirby and Elouise and Lee Gooden, Sr. preceded her in death.

Twanda leaves to cherish her memory, a loving daughter, Nikoya Rose Gooden; mother, Shirley Kirby Gooden; father, Lee Gooden, Jr.; brother, Shawn Miguel Gooden; eight aunts, three uncles, niece, Yaneliz; three nephews: Hykwon, Nicholas, Alejondro "Pa-Pa"; close friend and godmother to Nikoya, Torie Lowery and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be conducted privately at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Brooks Temple United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.Public viewing will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Service - Winston-Salem Chapel.
