Mrs. Vedis Lucille Dickerson Mabry, 86, of Cotton Grove Rd., died Monday, August 3, 2015, at Alston Brook Nursing Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00pm at New Zion Baptist Church with visitation a half hour before the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00pm until 8:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

She was born October 10, 1928, in Rowan County to the late Elbert Dickerson and Beulah Smith Dickerson.  She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, serving on many boards in the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mabry Sr.; a son, William C. Mabry; four brothers, Leroy, Ed, James and Bill Dickerson and two sisters, Louise Hargrave and Jessie B. Dickerson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her five sons, Arthur (Charlene) Mabry Jr, Elbert (Carolyn) Mabry, Dexter Mabry, Franklin Mabry and Norman Smith; four daughters, Jessie (Ray) Friday, Nita (Gary) Allen, Belinda (Dennis) Kelly and Vivian (Dwayne) Ingram; 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Fred Dickerson; a sister, Barbara Ann Fuller and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
