Veronica Powers Hedrick, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and dearest friends. Born September 14, 1950, in Davidson County, North Carolina, Veronica was the daughter of the late Robert and Velma Powers.

She was educated in the public schools of Davidson County. Veronica loved everyone, her love for her grandchildren and great-grandsons was unconditional. She was one of the most kindhearted souls you would ever meet. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Village Drive, in Lexington. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat with her children and cheering on her favorite team, The Carolina Panthers. Veronica's favorite activities included cookouts at her daughter's house and watching her favorite TV shows: "Sista's," "The Oval," and "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Anderson.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Scottie) Davis of Lexington, North Carolina, her son, Anthony (Aiza) Anderson of Bristol, CT; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; devoted brother, Ronald (Natalie) Powers of Lexington, NC; a devoted sister, Linda Lewis of High-Point, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; her "Besties" Hattie King, Kathy Wells and Vanessa Terry along with her special friend, Nancy Lorn.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Village Drive, at 2:00 pm with family visitation at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery.
