In God's Care, our beloved, Wanda Leonard Peebles., transitioned from labor to reward, Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Wanda was born November 15, 1950, in Davidson County and was the daughter of the late Henry Ivan Leonard and Lena Mae Tuttle Leonard. Gone from our home, but not from our hearts, Wanda will be remembered for her kind demeanor and love for family and friends. We find solace in knowing that she rests in Our Father's Arms.

Wanda was educated in the Davidson County schools and graduated from Ashmore Business College. She was a member of Brooks Temple United Methodist Church and a member of United Women in Faith and sang on the gospel choir. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a son, Deric Dyrone Leonard, a brother, Gary E. Leonard and a sister, Nancy Leonard.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Shawnetta Peebles; a grandson, Brycen Nichols; two brothers, Robert (Emma) Leonard and Vernon Leonard; four sisters: Priscilla F. Leonard, Earlene Leonard, Martha King and Cammie (Bruce) Smith and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at Brooks Temple United Methodist Church at 1:30pm with family visitation at 12:30pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
