Wayne Cross, 62, departed this life on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Wayne was born in Gatesville, NC on September 20, 1956.He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Riddick and his biological parents, Pearl V. Dildy and Frank Cross, Sr.

Wayne was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in November 1976.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 24 years, Nikki Cross; two daughters, Rasheeda Barber (Andre) and Crystal Cross both of Winston-Salem, NC; three sons: Alonzo Reid (Chevonne) of Hampton, VA, Dedrick Mack and Adrian Mack (Melinda) both of Winston-Salem, NC;a loving mother-in-law, Willie Mae Kirby of Winston-Salem, NC; four sisters: Vesteen Jackson, Dianne Cross Eure both of Suffolk, VA,Frances Chamblee (Wilbert) of Sunbury, NC and Deloyce White (David) of Elizabeth City, NC; four brothers: Thomas Riddick of Suffolk, VA, Gene Cross of Indianapolis, IN, Frank Cross, Jr. (Peggy) of Gates, NC and Jody Cross (Loretta) of Suffolk, VA; four aunts: Martha Beamon of Suffolk, VA, Bernice Wiggins (David), Ida Rountree and Louise Jones all of Gates, NC; a devoted niece, Shavonda Holland of Suffolk, VA, twelve grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from the chapel of Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem with family visitation at 6:00 P.M.His mortal frame will be coached to the grounds of Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC on Thursday, July 18, 2019 for interment at 11:00 A.M. His remains are in the care of Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem and may be viewed on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
