Wesley Brian Leverette, 57, was born July 19, 1965 in Davidson County to Terry Alicia Leverette Brooks and James Walker, Jr. He passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Wesley graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1985. He work in the manufacturing industry most of his life with his last employment as a supervisor of a clean-up crew at Nippon Electric Glass in Lexington, NC. He was a member of Ezekial AME Zion Church.

Wesley, better known as "DJ Wes," was a free spirit who had a passion for music and dance that was contagious. He met most people through musical functions and as a result, developed lasting friendships. He partied with Queen Latifah and so many others. Growing up, he loved going fishing and did it often with his brother and several of his friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patsy Williams Leverette; and her children: Bobbie (Peter) Davis, Bridgett Battle and Cedric (Kerstin) Battle; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; his mother, Terry Alicia Leverette Brooks; step mother, Sara Walker; a brother, Darryl Todd Leverette; three sisters: Joycelyn (Brian) Moore, Roslyn (Eric) Furte and LaShanda Walker; a special niece, Ebony Kearns; three aunts: Tracy (Michael) Johnson, Marvette Leverette and Inez Verdell and five uncle: Samuel C. Leverette, Jr., Lawrence O. (Joyce) Leverette, Sr., Rayvon (Ninnie) Leverette, Lloyd A. Leverette and Edward S. (Martha) Leverette, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at Ezekial AME Zion Church at 1:00pm with family visitation at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery.
