Wilbur Keith Holmes, 67, of Lexington, NC, died on Monday, December 2, 2024 after an extended illness at the Asheboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Asheboro, North Carolina.

Keith along with his twin sister, Yvette, graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1975. Keith chose to make his life here in Lexington, NC and had many jobs. He started his early working years helping his neighbor, Mr. Lewis Michael, with his part-time job at Coble Dairy. After attending A&T University in Greensboro, NC for a while, Keith worked in the home healthcare industry, before ending his work career at PPG. Keith was privileged to receive support and spiritual instruction from both St Stephens United Methodist Church and Union Baptist Church.

Keith was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Wilbur and Margaret Holmes; his grandmother, Lillie Reid; and his half-sister, Audrey Nelson. He is survived by his sister, Yvette Holmes Yake (Bill Yake), cousins: Klaudia Jackson, Tasheem Jackson (aka TJ), Shemeka White and Da'shanna White. Keith is also survived by his first cousins: Vernetta DeVane, Timothy DeVane (wife Priscilla) and Robert Coleman (aka Butch) and many friends and neighbors.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 14th at Union Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Avenue, Lexington, NC. Family Visitation is at 10:30AM, with the memorial service at 11:00AM.

We lay him to rest in God's hands with the hope of life to come.
