William Leon Bess, 59 of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Grady Health System. He was born on April 22, 1961 to the late Helen Elaine Bess and Richard Duke in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He worked very closely with his grandfather at Harding's Expert Shine Parlor and was very well-known for working at Forsyth and Old Town Country Club. He was loved and also well-known in the community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Dorothy "Dot" and James "J.C." Bess and Elizabeth R. Dukes Griffin; three uncles, and one aunt.
He leaves behind two loving sons, Leon "Weeqee" Bess and Sean Bess; their caring mother, Johnita "Jay-Bird" Campbell; sisters: Jimmetra "Jill" (Jeremy) Williams, Gethenia "Baba" Bess, India "Pinky" Bodney; brother, James "Charlie-Red" Caldwell, Jr; six aunts, seven uncles and a host of cousins.
His lovely smile and personality will definitely be missed
His life will be celebrated 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem). A public viewing will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
