Mr. William L. "Jaybird" Hairston, 74, of Frank Hulin Rd., died Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral service will be Friday at 2:00pm at Buncombe Baptist Church with visitation at 1:30pm.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00m-5:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

He was born April 1, 1947 in Davidson County to William G. Hairston and Patsy Lamb Hairston. He retired from Food Lion.He was a member of Buncombe Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lucy Hairston Hill.

He leaves to cherish is memory a son, William A. (Tonya) Hairston; a daughter Charmin (Michael) Hairston-Small; two grandchildren; a brother, Stokes (Shelia) Hairston; three sisters: Maezella (James) Peebles, Hannah Hairston and Patsy Hairston and a host of other family and friends.
