William Tennyson "Moochie" Hargrave, Jr., formerly of Lexington, passed away peacefully at Duke University Hospital on August 30, 2021 surrounded by family.
William was born on December 19, 1956 to William and Pauline Hargrave. He retired from Stanley Furniture and enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and listening to music. William was fond of playing his bass guitar and attending concerts where he had a knack for going backstage and meeting some of his favorite artists!
Moochie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Kirby Vinson.
Surviving are the love of his life and partner of more than 40 years, Peggy Marske and her children: Stacey M. (Michael) Scott, Wendy (Rusty Jowers) Marske and Kyle (Gwen) Marske; two sisters, Sadie Vinson and Brenda Hargrave; a brother, Wendell "Boo" (Marty) Hargrave; four nieces: Alina V. (Ruben) Henderson, Deandrella (Wallace) Yokley, Tasha N. Melton and Morgan Hargrave; two nephews, Kirby (Christina) Vinson, Jr. and Anthony (Heidi) Miller, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, family and friends.
Due to Covid-19, there will be a private service in the Craven-Powell Chapel of Roberts Funeral Service on Tuesday with Pastor Eddie Scott officiating. The service will be streamed for those who wish to view from home.
